After the results of civic elections in Maharashtra, the enthusiasm of Asaduddin Owaisi’s party All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is high. Sahar Sheikh, a young leader of this high-spirited party, has come into the limelight. A statement of only 22 year old Sahar Shaikh went viral and it became so viral that leaders of all parties started criticizing her. In this video, Sahar is saying that the entire Mumbra has to be painted green in 5 years. Now when the opposition leaders surrounded Sahar Sheikh, he has retaliated. Sahar says that the opposition is playing communal politics in this whereas she was only promoting the green color of her party AIMIM.
This time, AIMIM, which had strengthened itself in the civic elections, had contested elections in some wards of all the 29 municipal bodies. AIMIM has won 12 out of 29 civic body’s total 126 seats. AIMIM also won many seats in Mumbra and Sahar Shaikh also won the elections from here.

On which statement was the uproar created?
What Sahar Shaikh had said, ‘Now I request you all that when elections are held after next 5 years, Inshallah, you people have to give a more befitting reply than this. The entire Mumbra has to be painted with green color in such a way that these people have to be sent back badly. After 5 years, every candidate will come from AIMIM because in this election you have understood the power of Majlis and this power comes to us from Allah.

Questioning this statement of Sahar Shaikh, Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC has said, ‘Sahar Shaikh is a youth leader, a municipal servant in Mumbra says that she will make Mumbra green. They should clarify that you are referring to the environment, where you want a green Mumbra with development, then your statement is acceptable but what you are dividing people on the basis of religion is very sad.
Now what did Sahar Sheikh say?
Sahar Shaikh has said in her statement, ‘We are promoting green color because our flag is green, if our flag was yellow, orange or saffron then she would have said. Now it is green so I would like to paint green in Mumbra, I say this again. This was a matter of party level politics, but the opposition made it communal politics. Any color has nothing to do with any community. It is not written anywhere in our Constitution which color belongs to whom. Will sit with some colors according to religion and caste. If my thinking is secular then I can never make communal statements. I had just said that I want 25 seats out of 25 from Mumbra.
Who is Sahar Shaikh?
Only 22 years old Sahar Shaikh is the daughter of AIMIM leader Yunus Shaikh. This Yunus Sheikh was once close to Jitendra Awhad, but now Yunus’s daughter Sahar Sheikh is challenging him. Sahar is quite popular on social media and AIMIM is also benefiting from it.
