New Hyundai Bayon has recently been spotted during testing in South Korea. Even though the car is fully covered, many important things have come up with its design.

The current generation Bayon has a length of 4180 mm, but the model being prepared for India will be sub-4 meters. If compared, it will be more compact in size, but in the case of looks more SUV-like. Interestingly, the codename of the Third Generation i20 and the existing Bayon was BC3, while this new model is being known as BC4i, pointing to its new platform and upgrade.

The current Bayon is called a jacked-up hatchback, Hyundai wants to change this image in the new generation. Spy photographs give clear indications that the new Bayon will come with more boxy and muscular silhouette.

It can see sporty front grills, inspired LED DRLs from Venue, split headlamp setup and connected taillamps. Elevated ground clearance, shoulder line sweeping design and coupe-style roofline can give it more SUV feel than Fronx.

Talking inside, the cabin of the new Hyundai Bayon may be largely similar to the new generation Venue. It is expected to offer a dual-screen setup, which will include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital driver display.

The list of features is also going to be long. Features such as automatic climate control, electrically adjustable driver seat, ADAS technology, 8-speaker Bose sound system, four-spoke multi-function steering wheel and electric ORVMs can make it significantly stronger in segments.

The official date for the launch of the new Hyundai Bayon in India has not been revealed yet, but it is expected that the car may launch in late 2026 or early 2027.

Talking about the competition, its direct target will be Maruti Suzuki Fronx. Apart from this, cars like Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Kia Sonet will also be in front of it. The segment is already quite congested, but Hyundai’s brand value and feature-loaded approach can put it in a strong position.
