If the flag is hoisted on Republic Day…Himachal Pradesh CM receives bomb threat, administration loses sleep!

Himachal Pradesh:Before Republic Day, a suspicious e-mail gave sleepless nights to the administration in Shimla. This message sent anonymously claimed that if the Chief Minister hoists the national flag on Republic Day, there will be a human bomb attack. This e-mail was received on the official mail ID of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Shimla, after which the administration took it seriously and informed the police and started investigating the matter.

Considering the threat as serious, FIR was registered
Let us tell you that the police have registered an FIR under criminal sections considering this e-mail as a rumor and a false message. Police say that the purpose of such messages is to spread fear among people and create a feeling of insecurity. An FIR has been registered in the matter under sections 351(3), 353(1)(b) and 152 of the Indian Penal Code in Police Station Sadar Shimla.

Attempt to identify through cyber investigation
Police said that the e-mail was sent from an ID named ‘canyoutextmeback@gmail.com’. Now, through technical investigation, efforts are being made to find out from which place and by which person this mail has been sent. The cyber team is investigating the digital evidence of the e-mail, so that the suspect can be identified and the conspiracy behind the incident can be revealed.

Security review and vigilance increased
In the context of a national festival like Republic Day, such a threat is considered very serious. Shimla Police said that this message may be an attempt to harm the unity, integrity and security of the country. Therefore, all security related aspects are being reviewed and necessary precautions are being taken. The police have appealed to the general public not to believe in rumors and immediately inform the police of any suspicious information or activity.
