Preparations for Republic Day terror attack in capital Delhi; Punjab police went to Haryana and arrested

In this regard, police in Punjab’s Ludhiana district have arrested a Khalistan supporter from Safidon town in Haryana’s Jind district on charges of plotting a major terrorist attack in Delhi.
The suspect arrested by the police has been identified as Kuldeep alias Kalu (aged 36), a resident of Ward No.5. According to police, Kuldeep conspired with Bangladeshi militants in Pakistan to carry out bomb blasts in Delhi. Kuldeep’s name came up during the interrogation of two Khalistani terrorists arrested from Ludhiana recently. Subsequently, a team of Ludhiana Police reached Safidoon on Monday and detained him from Ward No.5. Police said Kuldeep was associated with the Khalistani ideology for a long time. He also shared photos and phone numbers of Khalistani supporters on his Facebook account.
Meanwhile, Kuldeep had traveled to America by donkey in 2019. He was arrested by the US police while crossing the border and spent almost 10 months in jail. He returned to India after his release from prison in 2020. Kuldeep is accused of a road accident in Safidon in 2016. He lived in Safidon with his family.
Safidon’s earlier association with Khalistani activities
The Safidon area has been linked to Khalistani activities in the past. In April 2024, Ratandeep, a resident of Rohad village in Safidon and an active member of Babbar Khalsa Tiger Force, was shot dead in Balachaur area of Nawanshahr district of Punjab. Ratandeep faced serious charges of involvement in anti-national activities. He was accused of smuggling RDX from Pakistan to India, setting up an RDX plant in Sector 34 of Chandigarh in 1999 and involvement in the RDX blast in Amritsar in 2010.
