ICC’s problems increased after Bangladesh’s threat to attack T20 World Cup

News India Live, Digital Desk: Whenever we talk about cricket, the noise of the stadium, the rain of fours and sixes and the feeling of victory of our team come to our mind. But these days the ‘game’ going on outside the field is no less than a nightmare. A big name in the world of cricket, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has given the rumor of withdrawing its name from the T20 World Cup, the heartbeats of cricket lovers all over the world have increased. What is this whole crisis? (In simple words) The real issue is ‘security’ and ‘respect’. If reports are to be believed, Bangladesh is adopting a tough stance regarding its security concerns. But it is not just about security. The tussle between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has always been a stumbling block in major ICC tournaments. But this time when a country like Bangladesh talked about pulling back, it seemed that the issue has become more complicated than ever. Fear of insecurity or political pressure? The most important thing for any athlete in the world is his confidence and the security that gives him the freedom to play without fear. Bangladesh say that they are not ready to play in conditions where there is any threat to the lives of the players. However, experts are also seeing this as a strategy to put pressure on BCCI and ICC. Think, if even one strong team is out of a big competition like T-20 World Cup, then its color is sure to fade. The ICC is currently caught in the middle – on one side is the threat of BCCI, on the other side is Pakistan and Bangladesh’s own side. Helplessness of cricket lovers: As a fan, we are unable to understand these paper tricks. We just want the best teams in the world to fight together. But the way the political wind is blowing, it seems that now more than bat and ball, more talk is happening through board room meetings and e-mails. ICC’s silence till now is also raising many questions. Do they really have a solution to this crisis? Or will we remember this year’s World Cup as an ‘incomplete mission’? At present, all eyes are on the next few hours and the statement coming from BCCI. Because without India’s stand it seems impossible to resolve this issue. We can only hope that cricket wins over the game of politics and this tournament starts with the same sparkle as we had imagined.
