Big campaign against crime in Punjab, DGP gives strict warning

Punjab News: The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has launched the ‘Gangster Te War’ campaign to make the state gangster-free. After the campaign against drugs, the government has now announced a direct and decisive war against gangsterism and organized crime.

2,000 police teams, more than 12,000 soldiers in the field
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said that under this campaign, 72-hour Operation Prahar is being run. More than 2,000 police teams and more than 12,000 police personnel are conducting raids across the state. This action is being taken on the locations associated with gangsters and their associates.

Attack on the entire network of gangsterism
The DGP said that this is not a normal action, but a plan to eliminate the entire ecosystem of gangsterism. In this, funding, supply of weapons, safe havens and communication networks are all being targeted.

Crackdown on gangsters sitting abroad
Punjab Police has formed Overseas Fugitive Tracking and Extradition Cell to nab gangsters hiding abroad. Red corner notices have been issued against many gangsters and action will be taken soon in the remaining cases also.

Appeal to youth to give up crime
The DGP appealed to the youth to stay away from the path of crime. He said that gangsters sitting abroad lure the youth with money and push them into crime, while they themselves remain safe. Those who improve in time are welcome, but strict action will be taken against those who do not comply.

Anti-gangster helpline started
Punjab Police has issued anti-gangster helpline number 93946-93946. Any person can give information related to gangsters on this number without revealing his identity. Reward will also be given for giving correct information.

Reward policy approved
The government has approved a reward policy of Rs 10 crore. Under this policy, common citizens and policemen will get rewards for helping in arresting gangsters. The government has a clear message that there is no place for crime and criminals in Punjab.
