Noida: The tragic death of 27-year-old technician Yuvraj Mehta in Noida has shocked the entire city. A video that went viral on social media shows Mehta’s last moments after his car fell into a water-filled pit last Saturday and drowned. Rescuers can be seen in the video attempting to rescue him, while the dim light of his phone’s flashlight shines on the surface of the water in the dense fog.
The voice was heard
The video clearly shows the rescue team making numerous efforts despite poor visibility. Voices can be heard urging Mehta to remain calm. The incident occurred on the night of January 16th, and the local administration and disaster response team are conducting a thorough investigation.

Yuvraj Mehta was returning home on Saturday night. His car fell into a deep pit near a construction site in Sector 150, Greater Noida. Trapped in his car, Mehta waited for help for nearly two hours. inspection of the scene
Yuvraj’s father, Raj Kumar Mehta, was also present at the scene. Police recovered his car three days after the accident. The forensic team measured the road and drain and collected samples. The pothole had filled with water over time, becoming a pond-like structure.
Investigation and FIR
The Uttar Pradesh government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the case. On January 18, Yuvraj’s father filed an FIR against MZ Wiztown Planners and Lotus Greens. The charges include negligence, culpable homicide, and endangering life. Another FIR was also filed against five individuals associated with these companies.
The pit was filled with water and garbage
Investigations revealed that the pit had been filled with water and garbage for years. It was deep and polluted, with additional waste accumulating due to rain. Lotus Greens purchased the pit from the Noida Authority in 2014 and transferred it to MZ Visiontown in 2020.
How many arrests so far?
Police detained three builders in connection with the case, including Abhay Kumar, Ravi Bansal, and Sachin Karnwal. The accused are said to be associated with Lotus Greens and MZ Visiontown, although their exact designations are not yet clear.
