Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann’s health guarantee complete in Punjab, free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh

The guarantee given by Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and CM Bhagwant Singh Mann of free treatment to Punjab has also been fulfilled. Now every family in Punjab will get free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh. During a program organized in Mohali, AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann launched the “Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana”. During this, former CM Kejriwal said that now the poor will also be able to get treatment in the luxurious and expensive hospitals where the rich get treatment. Today Punjab has become the first state to provide free treatment, free education, free electricity and free bus travel facility to women.

Launching the Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana during a program organized in Mohali, Arvind Kejriwal said that today is a big and historic occasion not only for Punjab but for the entire country. The work which is being done in Punjab today, probably should have been done in 1950 itself.

People couldn’t believe it then

Referring to the promises made during the elections, Arvind Kejriwal said that when he and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann used to go for election campaign, we used to give guarantees. At that time we used to talk about ‘Kejriwal’s Guarantee’, in which one guarantee was on health that we will arrange free and good health for every person and every citizen of Punjab. People could not believe it then. In those days there was Congress government. First Captain Amarinder Singh was the Chief Minister and then Charanjit Singh Channi. They used to say that the treasury is empty, the government is running in loss and the government has no money.

1000 mohalla clinics have been set up

Arvind Kejriwal said that today electricity is being provided free and good schools are being built. Arrangements for free health care were made from the beginning, but today’s step is a big one. Within the last 4 years, the government has created about 1000 mohalla clinics, which are located in every village and locality. These are not ordinary mohalla clinics. In the last 75 years, the governments of Akali Dal, BJP and Congress together had opened a total of 400 primary health centres, whereas the present government has built 1000 mohalla clinics in 4 years and 500 more are being built. Within the next four-five months, 2500 ‘Pind Clinics’ are going to be built in every village. This government has probably done 10 times the work in 4 years than what the previous governments did in 75 years.

Arvind Kejriwal further said that sometimes such an illness occurs that a person has to go to a private hospital. Many people wish to get treatment in a private hospital as per their wish. Therefore, today a scheme is being implemented under which now even the poorest of the poor farmers, laborers and rickshaw pullers can go to the best and most luxurious private hospitals of Punjab, where the richest people go for treatment. He doesn’t need to worry about money.

All medicines and tests up to Rs 10 lakh will be free

Arvind Kejriwal further said that this is an insurance of Rs 10 lakh. People can go to any hospital, whether government or private. Well, the government has started fixing everything and in a few days, government hospitals will become better than private hospitals. But now the patient can go anywhere. All medicines and tests worth up to Rs 10 lakh will be free for both major and minor ailments. As soon as the patient is admitted to the hospital, everything will be free.

During this, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said in his address that today is a historic day in the history of Punjab. He announced the launch of a comprehensive healthcare facility scheme for every household in the state. He said that there will be no discrimination in this scheme.

This is not an election announcement

Bhagwant Mann said that under this scheme, treatment of all serious and expensive diseases including kidney (dialysis and transplant), heart diseases, cancer, knee replacement and mother-child care is included. He said that this is not an election announcement, but the coverage of those who got registered today has started from today itself. For this only Aadhar card will be required.

Gave 600 units of free electricity

Bhagwant Mann criticized the schemes of the central government and the previous state governments. He said that so many conditions were imposed in the old schemes that the common man was left out of the benefits. Giving the example of the electricity scheme of the AAP government, he said that just as we gave 600 units of free electricity to everyone without any conditions, similarly this health scheme will also be implemented without any ineligibility conditions. Government employees and pensioners will also be included in this.
