Australian actress Yerin Ha has opened up about landing the role of Sophie on the hit period drama Bridgerton.
The show is Netflix’s one of biggest hits and returns with season 4 on January 29.
The actress plays Sophie Baek, a new character, who is the love interest of Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson.
Speaking to InStyleahead of the release of her show, Yerin talked about her role saying “I thought my British accent was terrible”.
The show is set in the Regency era Britain based on characters primarily English who sought for their love matches during the courting season.
She also revealed that during her first read on Zoom with Luke, she felt “loopy”.
However Luke remembered the read as a good experience saying “I just remember feeling, despite the artifice of an audition, the Zoom delay, and shaky internet connection, that we were actually talking to each other.”
Yerin said her first reaction to landing the role was the anxiety to shoot the intimate scenes, that are very popular in the show.
The actress said that shooting the show, specially the vulnerable scenes, has taught her “a lot about self-love and self-acceptance.”
