Delhiites beware! Liquor will not be available for the next 5 days, note down the dates now; Police will keep a close watch on violators

If you live in the capital Delhi and are fond of alcohol, then this news is very important for you. In view of the upcoming festivals and national festivals, the Excise Department of Delhi Government has declared a total of 5 days between 26 January to 31 March 2026 as ‘dry days’. These days there will be a complete ban on the sale of liquor in the entire capital.

According to the official notification issued by the Excise Department, this decision has been taken keeping in mind the maintenance of law and order in the city, respecting religious sentiments and the dignity of national festivals. All liquor shops and vendors in Delhi will remain completely closed during the dry day.

What are the rules for hotels?

It has been clarified in the order that partial relief has been given to hotels during dry day. L-15 (L-15) licensed hotels will be able to serve liquor in their rooms to foreign tourists and guests staying there. However, serving or selling liquor to customers coming from outside will not be allowed at all in the hotel bar or restaurant.

Strict action will be taken if rules are broken

The administration has given a strict warning that if any shop or vendor is found selling liquor secretly, its license can be canceled and heavy fine can also be imposed. Police and Excise Department teams will keep vigil across the city on these special days.
