Love Jihad Posing As Sameer Dwivedi Sameer Jafri Trapped A Hindu Woman In A Romantic Relationship Rape And Blackmail Followed

A serious criminal case of Love Jihad has come to light in Srinagar of Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. On January 22, the police arrested Sameer Jafri for raping the girl and blackmailing her. Jafri is accused of hiding his identity by calling himself a Hindu Brahmin youth ‘Sameer Dwivedi’, befriending a Hindu girl, then sexually exploiting her on the pretext of marriage and later blackmailing her through obscene photos and videos.

According to the police, the accused was living in Alaknanda Vihar area of ​​Srinagar. The victim told in the complaint that she and the accused used to study together in Garhwal University. During this time, Sameer Jafri introduced himself as ‘Sameer Dwivedi’ and befriended him. After gradually winning her trust, he promised marriage and on this pretext had physical relations with the victim. During this time, the accused also recorded obscene pictures and videos of the victim.

Later, the accused repeatedly blackmailed her by threatening to make these private pictures and videos viral on social media and demanded money. When the victim refused to comply with his demands, the accused’s behavior became more aggressive. It has also been said in the complaint that the accused not only threatened to make the personal material public but also mentally tortured her by threatening to kill her.

In this case, on January 20, former District Panchayat member Lakhpat Bhandari along with his supporters reached Srinagar Police Station and demanded strict action against the accused. The next day, the victim also reached the police station along with Lakhpat Bhandari and lodged a formal complaint. Based on the complaint, the police registered an FIR.

Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Pauri Senior Superintendent of Police Sarvesh Panwar gave instructions for immediate arrest and effective investigation. After this, a special police team was formed under the leadership of station in-charge Kuldeep Singh. Taking immediate action, the police traced the location of the accused and arrested him.

Police said that Sameer Jafri was originally a resident of Jatpura village of Mandavali police station area of ​​Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh and was currently residing in Srinagar area. After the arrest, the accused is being interrogated and further investigation of the case is going on. Police are also investigating whether the accused has similarly victimized anyone else by changing his identity. The administration says that all the facts in the case will be thoroughly investigated and if found guilty, strict action will be taken against the accused under the law.
