Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will visit India from 19-21 February. This visit of the President is a state visit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself had invited him to visit India. During President Inacio’s visit to India, many important issues will be discussed between him and Prime Minister Modi. These include issues like bilateral relations between the two countries, trade, global situation, peace in Gaza and the world, multilateralism, protection of democracy, Global South, American tariffs.

Inacio’s visit to India has increased the concern of US President Donald Trump. When Trump had imposed tariffs on India, President Inacio had openly opposed Trump. President Inacio had described the tariff as Trump’s bullying and said that he is with India. During this visit, important discussions are possible on increasing trade between the two countries. After this meeting, Brazilian market may also open for Indian goods. President Donald Trump’s imposition of tariffs has not had any significant impact on India so far. Even after the imposition of tariff, India’s exports to America have increased. In such a situation, if trade between India and Brazil increases, the impact of Trump’s tariffs will further reduce.
