This day is dedicated to Mother Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, wisdom, art and speech. Morning time is considered the best time for worship. According to the Panchang, the date of Basant Panchami will start from 2:28 am today and will continue till 1:46 am on January 24. The best time to worship Goddess Saraswati has been said to be from 7:13 am to 12:33 pm today. The worship done at this time is considered especially fruitful.
Inexplicable time and combination of auspicious yogas
In astrology, Basant Panchami has been given the status of Abujha Muhurta. That is, on this day there is no need to look for a separate auspicious time for marriage, house warming, vehicle purchase, property related work or starting any new work.
This year, a combination of Paridhi Yoga, Shiva Yoga and Ravi Yoga is also taking place on Basant Panchami. These yogas are considered to bring success, spiritual progress and removal of negativity. Ravi Yoga will last from 2:33 pm today till 7:13 am the next day.
Simple worship method of Basant Panchami
On this day, take bath in the morning and wear clean and light yellow colored clothes. Install a statue or picture of Mother Saraswati in the home temple or any clean place. Offer yellow flowers, Akshat, turmeric and sweets. It is considered auspicious to keep books, notebooks, pens or musical instruments near the mother during the puja. Finally, pray to Mother Saraswati for knowledge, wisdom and success.

Basant Panchami is considered very auspicious for the beginning of children’s education. On this day, teaching small children to write for the first time or taking new steps related to studies gives good results. Donating books, copies or pens to needy children is also considered virtuous.
