Kharge’s sharp attack on Modi regarding MNREGA, said – Have you ever made tea or is it just a drama?

New Delhi . Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and alleged that he lied to get votes and called himself a tea seller. Kharge on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Central government over the ‘Developed India-Ji Ram Ji Act’ and said that abolishing the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNAREGA) is a conspiracy to make the poor ‘bonded labourers’ and his party will raise this issue during the budget session of Parliament starting from January 28.

Addressing the program ‘MNREGA Bachao Morcha’ organized by the newly formed wing of Congress ‘Creative Congress’, he said, “To get votes, he keeps saying, ‘I am a tea seller’. Has he ever made tea? Has he ever gone into railway compartments with a kettle to serve tea to people? All this is just a drama. His habit is to harass the poor.” The Congress President said that the ruling party is busy in election campaign. He said, “Tell me one thing that he has done, like Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had started such big projects.

They just say to get votes, I am a tea seller.
The Congress party has shared excerpts of his speech on social media platform X. It is written in the post, “The country is run by two people – Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. They do not work for the country, they only roam around in the election campaign. Modi ji says that he will bring the bullet train, but bullet train is a distant thing, he could not even lay new tracks. He has not been able to do any work for the poor, but goes everywhere to show the green flag. If he had ever worked as a laborer, he would have known the pain of the laborers. Narendra Modi says only to get votes, I I am a tea seller. This is all their drama.”

BJP hit back
Reacting to Kharge’s statement, BJP leader Tom Vadakkan said that it is true that the Prime Minister comes from an ordinary family, and this cannot be denied. Attacking the Congress, he said, “There are people in the Congress party who are born in a royal family. Can they deny the privilege that they have got? Congress does not stand with the truth.”

Let us tell you that before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Modi often used to say in election rallies that his father used to run a tea shop at Vadnagar station in Gujarat, and he used to help him in his childhood. However, on several occasions, Congress leaders have raised this issue and created political controversies. On the other hand, the BJP has often taunted the Congress for being “dynastic” in responding to these comments.

Congress will agitate for MNREGA
However, Kharge said, “The Congress party is going to agitate to save MNREGA in all parts of the country.” Ending MNREGA is not just an attack on the weaker sections. This is a conspiracy to remove Mahatma Gandhi from public memory and attack the idea of Gram Swaraj.” He said, ”This is the first time that a party is daring to remove the name of a scheme named after Mahatma Gandhi. The country will not tolerate this.
