Delhi Capitals hit by double injury setback ahead of key RCB clash
Delhi Capitals suffered a double injury blow on Friday as batter Deeya Yadav and wicketkeeper Mamatha Madiwala were ruled out of the remainder of the Women’s Premier League.
The franchise named Pragati Singh and Eddla Srujana as replacements, with both players joining the squad for ₹10 lakh each, the WPL confirmed in an official statement.
“The duo of Deeya Yadav and Mamatha Madiwala has been ruled out of the season due to injuries. Pragati Singh and Eddla Srujana will join Delhi Capitals for ₹10 lakh each,” the statement read.
The setback comes at a crucial time for Delhi Capitals, who are fighting to stay alive in the race for the WPL playoffs. DC showed signs of a comeback in their previous outing with a seven-wicket win over the Mumbai Indians, climbing to fourth place on the points table with four points.
However, the task ahead remains stiff, with Delhi set to face an in-form Royal Challengers Bengaluru side that is still unbeaten in the tournament. DC will need a near-perfect all-round performance to halt RCB’s momentum and keep their playoff hopes alive.
