After a long gap of almost two years, the actress’s next film ‘Assi’ has been officially announced. Even though Taapsee Pannu has been away from the big screen for the last two years, during this time she has been continuously working on her upcoming projects behind the scenes. On 23 January 2026, the first glimpse of the film ‘Assi’ was released in the form of a motion poster. This caption clearly indicates that ‘Assi’ will be a courtroom drama, in which Taapsee will probably be seen in the role of a lawyer. From the glimpse of the film, it is being speculated that she will be seen fighting a legal battle to get justice for a girl.
Many veteran actors will be seen in important roles along with Taapsee Pannu in ‘Assi’ being directed by Anubhav Sinha. The star cast of the film includes names like Kani Kusruti, Revathi, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, Naseeruddin Shah, Supriya Pathak and Seema Pahwa, which further adds to the seriousness and strength of the film. This film will be released in theaters on 20 February 2026. However, on the same day at the box office, it will compete with Sanjay Leela Bhansali produced film ‘Do Deewane Sahar Mein’, in which Mrunal Thakur and Siddhant Chaturvedi will be seen in the lead roles.
