Amidst the tension, America has increased the deployment of USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier and other military equipment in the Middle East. Apart from this, it has deployed aircraft like F-15E Strike Eagle and A-10 Thunderbolt II at the bases of allied countries like Jordan and Qatar. However, US officials say that this deployment is a precautionary step for the security of US forces and is not an indication of unilateral military action in the region. President Donald Trump has also expressed hope of avoiding military action, but the heavy military deployment near Iran has shocked the whole world. Meanwhile, Iran has said that if it is attacked, it will retaliate.

Warships from Arabian Sea to Persian Gulf

According to US officials, the aircraft carrier strike group led by USS Abraham Lincoln, along with guided-missile destroyers and an attack submarine is being deployed to the Arabian Sea or Persian Gulf. This fleet was earlier in the South China Sea, but following Trump’s instructions it has been diverted towards the west. It is no longer visible on open-source tracking systems (AIS), which is generally considered a sign of war preparations.

Fighter planes already at the front

America has also deployed F-15E Strike Eagle fighter aircraft in the Middle East. The same squadron was used to protect Israel from Iranian drone and missile attacks in April 2024. Apart from this, KC-135 air tankers have been deployed to provide air refueling facility to fighter planes. This significantly increases the attack range and lethality.

Missile defense also active

America has also deployed THAAD and Patriot missile systems in the Middle East region, especially in allied countries like Israel and Qatar. These arrangements and preparations clearly show that America is fully prepared not only to attack but also to defend against counter-attacks. Officially America claims that this pressure is due to the ongoing protests and alleged human rights violations in Iran. According to a report by Al Jazeera, according to Iranian media, 3,117 people have died in the ongoing protests in Iran, but human rights organizations claim that the real number could be more than 20,000.

Iran rejected Trump’s claim

Trump claimed that his pressure caused Iran to halt 840 executions and warned that if the atrocities were not stopped, military action would be taken. However, Iran’s top prosecutor on Friday rejected US President Donald Trump’s claim as “completely false”. Iran’s judiciary news agency, Mizan, said this quoting the country’s top prosecutor Mohammad Movahedi. According to Mizan, Movahedi said, “This claim is completely false; no such numbers exist, nor has the judiciary taken any such decision.”
