Pep Guardiola hails Arsenal as ‘Best Team in the World’ amid Manchester City setbacks

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has labelled Arsenal as the “best team in the world right now” following his side’s difficult run of results in recent days. The Spaniard made the remarks during a press conference, acknowledging Arsenal’s impressive consistency across both domestic and European competitions.

City’s praise of their Premier League rivals comes at a testing moment for the reigning champions. Guardiola’s men suffered a painful defeat to Manchester United in last weekend’s league clash, before enduring another setback in Europe with a 3-1 loss against Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Champions League earlier this week. The back-to-back defeats have raised questions about City’s form as the season reaches a crucial phase.

In contrast, Arsenal continue to go from strength to strength. Mikel Arteta’s side currently sit top of the Premier League table and also lead their Champions League group, underlining their status as serious contenders on multiple fronts.

The Gunners have opened up a seven-point gap over Manchester City in the league standings, placing them firmly in control of the title race at this stage of the campaign.

Guardiola, known for his respect towards opposition teams, did not shy away from praising Arsenal’s structure, intensity and balance.
