Actor KRK Arrested for Allegedly Firing Shots at Residential Building in Mumbai’s Andheri

Actor and film critic Kamaal Rashid Khan, popularly known as KRK, was arrested by the Oshiwara Police on Saturday morning in connection with a two-round firing incident reported earlier this month in Mumbai’s Andheri (West) area, officials said.

The arrest follows an intensive investigation into the incident that occurred on January 18, when two bullets were fired at Nalanda Society in Oshiwara, triggering concern among residents. No injuries were reported.

What Police Say

Confirming the arrest, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 9) Dikshit Gedam said that KRK admitted the shots were fired from his licensed firearm while he was allegedly cleaning the weapon.

“The firearm has been seized and further legal procedures are underway,” the officer said. KRK is currently being held at the Oshiwara police station.

Details of the Incident

According to police, one bullet was recovered from a second-floor flat belonging to a writer-director, while another was found on the fourth floor, which houses a model’s residence. Authorities confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.

An 18-member team from Oshiwara police station, led by Senior Inspector Sanjay Chavan, along with multiple Mumbai Crime Branch units, was deployed to investigate the firing.

Forensic Breakthrough Led to Arrest

Investigators initially faced challenges, as CCTV footage from the area did not provide clear leads. However, a breakthrough came after forensic analysis suggested that the bullets may have been fired from KRK’s bungalow.

Based on these findings, police identified KRK as the primary suspect, leading to his arrest.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing and further action will be taken based on forensic reports and legal review.
