Madhya Pradesh: A painful accident took place in Morena district on Monday, when the roof of a temple suddenly collapsed and fell down. Three of them died on the spot when debris fell on the girls present inside. Five other girls and a husband and wife were also injured in the accident. All the injured were immediately taken to the hospital, where according to doctors the condition of some remains critical.
The people injured in the incident were immediately taken to the district hospital and admitted, where their treatment is going on. This accident happened in Chamada Mata temple located in Ehrauli village of Kailaras police station area. As soon as the information was received, Kailaras police station reached the spot and started investigation. It is being told that the dead and injured girls are residents of the same village.
According to the information, repair and construction work was going on in the temple premises these days. Meanwhile, the devotees of Gaud Samaj who came from Mungawali offered Prasad in the temple. After the distribution of Prasad, women and girls were present around the temple, when a part of the roof suddenly collapsed amid the ongoing construction above.
Three girls died on the spot after being buried under the debris, while a couple and other girls were injured. The villagers immediately started relief work, took everyone out and sent them to the hospital. Local people say that adequate security arrangements were not made at the construction site.
Police have recorded statements from family members and eyewitnesses. Administrative officials have also reached the spot and taken stock of the situation and have assured better treatment of the injured. There is an atmosphere of mourning and anger in the village after the incident. The contractor and other responsible people associated with the construction work are being interrogated.
