IED blast in Saranda forest of Chaibasa, two villagers seriously injured
Chaibasa Two villagers have been seriously injured in an IED blast in Tirilposhi forest of Saranda, a highly sensitive Naxal-affected area. According to the police, the IED was planted by Naxalites. The incident has been confirmed by West Singhbhum SP Amit Renu.

According to preliminary information, some villagers of Tirilposhi village had gone to the forest to collect wood and leaves for daily needs. Meanwhile, a villager stepped on a pressure IED hidden underground. Due to which there was a huge explosion and two people were seriously injured in the explosion.

Police and security forces became active as soon as information about the incident was received. SP Amit Renu said that the accident happened after dark, hence a complete assessment of the situation at the spot has yet to be done. He said that at present the priority is to evacuate the injured safely and provide better treatment. Along with this, the search operation in the area has also been intensified. The SP strongly condemned this incident and called it a proof of the desperation and cowardice of the Naxalites. He said that targeting civilians shows that Naxalites are playing with the lives of innocent people to show their presence.
