Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s big attack on Pakistan’s foreign policy, called Shahbaz government a failure

Islamabad. The Shahbaz Sharif government is facing severe criticism in Pakistan due to the deepening economic crisis and failing foreign policy. After the recent trade deal between India and America, the questions have become more intense that despite the open flattery of the US administration, why Pakistan did not get any concrete benefit, whereas India made a beneficial agreement with America. Meanwhile, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), has launched a scathing attack on the Shahbaz Sharif government and exposed its foreign policy.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that decades of poor foreign policy and internal contradictions have led Pakistan to lose nearly all of its strategic partners. Speaking at an event, he questioned Pakistan’s 78-year-old strategic thinking, saying, “In all these decades, we have never introspected on why our Afghan policy has failed so badly.” Anger has gripped everyone from Afghanistan to China.

The JUI-F chief said Pakistan’s foreign policy has reached a point where India is the enemy, Afghanistan is the enemy, and even countries considered close to Pakistan, like Iran and China, are angry with Pakistan. He said, “The people of Pakistan deserve answers. No country can survive for long if its policies only foster division, distrust, and insecurity.”

The government was also targeted regarding CPEC

Maulana Fazlur Rehman also questioned the Shahbaz government’s handling of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He said the government has completely failed to win back China’s trust and attract new investment. According to Fazlur Rehman, “There is no real progress on CPEC because China no longer trusts us.”

It is noteworthy that clashes between Baloch insurgents and security forces are increasing in Pakistan. The insurgents oppose CPEC, alleging exploitation of Balochistan’s natural resources, and have repeatedly targeted Chinese citizens. Despite repeated assurances, the Pakistani government has failed to provide adequate security to Chinese officials, eroding China’s trust in Pakistan.
