No entry of wife and girlfriend… Shock to Team India amid T20 World Cup, BCCI issued order, know the whole matter

BCCI Strict Guideline: Team India started its campaign in the T20 World Cup with a match against USA. After winning in which, now the next match of the Indian team is going to be against Namibia on 12th February. Before this match, the Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI has issued a big order for Team India.

Remaining firm on its decision, the BCCI has advised to strictly implement the decision of not having the players’ families with them during the T20 World Cup campaign.

BCCI issued decree

As per the current policy of the Board, in tours or tournaments longer than 45 days, families of players can stay together for a maximum of 14 days, while for shorter tours this period has been reduced to only 7 days. According to the Indian Express report, the Indian team management had sought clarity regarding allowing the families of the cricketers to stay with them. But the board clearly said that “the families will not stay with the players.”

BCCI imposed strictness after losing the test series

The report quoted the source as saying that the families will not stay with the players. However, if they wish, they can make separate arrangements. In fact, in 2024, when Team India had lost 0-3 in the Test series against New Zealand at home and after that Team India had to face defeat 1-3 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, the BCCI had strictly re-imposed the old rules.

Board officials believe that having family together, especially on foreign tours, can affect players’ focus, which impacts performance. Apart from this, BCCI has also mandated that all players will travel with the team at all times.

India-Pakistan high voltage competition

Team India now has to play its next T20 match against Namibia on 12 February. After this, on February 15, Team India will play a great match against Pakistan. Fans have once again become eager for the high voltage match between India and Pakistan. It will be interesting to see whether Pakistan will be able to compete with India this time or not.
