No Confidence Motion: Why did Rahul Gandhi not sign the no-confidence motion notice, Congress gave this reason

New Delhi. On Tuesday, opposition MPs have given notice to the Lok Sabha Secretariat to bring a No Confidence Motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. This notice is being issued on the charge of not allowing Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi to speak in Parliament. However, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has not signed it. Congress sources said that it is not right in parliamentary democracy for the Leader of Opposition to sign the notice to remove the Speaker from the post. For this reason Rahul Gandhi decided not to sign the notice.

118 opposition MPs signed the notice

118 MPs of the opposition have signed this notice. The signing MPs include MPs from Congress, DMK, SP. In the notice, the opposition has said, the Lok Sabha Speaker is continuously stopping the opposition MPs from raising issues of public interest. It was told in the notice that the notice has been given under Article 94 (C) because the Speaker is openly biased.

Eight opposition MPs have been arbitrarily suspended, punishing them simply for exercising their democratic rights. On many occasions, leaders of opposition parties were not allowed to speak, even though it is their fundamental right. Congress MP and Chief Whip K Suresh gave this notice to the Lok Sabha Secretariat. TMC MPs have not signed this notice nor are they part of this notice.
