PSL XI Auction: Snubs, steals and shockers
The first ever PSL Auction has finally taken place
After 10 long years of Pakistan Super League coming into existence, the event has finally shifted from draft model to auction system.
It was earlier announced in that for the eleventh season and onwards, the team squads will be made from player auctions.
The first ever PSL auction took place on February 11, Wednesday and it was full of ups and downs and some steals.
After the retentions were announced for the eight teams, the management went into the auction with a purse of PKR 45 crore.
First player of the night was Pakistani all-rounder Faheem Ashraf who went to Islamabad United days after a remarkable performance in the T20 World Cup against Netherlands.
Later, Australian star David Warner was sold to Karachi Kings for PKR 7.9 crore.
PSL star player Rilee Rossouw was sold to Quetta Gladiators for PKR 5.55 crore.
Haris Rauf was picked back by his previous team Lahore Qalandars after a bidding war for PKR 7.6 crore.
Pakistani star pacer Naseem Shah sparked a bidding war and eventually went to Rawalpindi for a staggering PKR 8.6 crore.
Wicket Keeper Azam Khan returns to his home city Karachi for PKR 3.65 crore.
Pakistan’s T20 captain Salman Ali Agha was picked by Karachi Kings for PKR 5.85.
As of the first half of the auction, theres a slew of Pakistani players that remains unsold that includes stars like Imad Wasim, Asif Ali, Shan Masood and many more.
