Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while replying to the debate on the budget said, “There is no rule of law and order in West Bengal. There is a rule of violence and bomb blasts. TMC MP Saugata Rai’s allegation that West Bengal is not mentioned in the budget is completely wrong.”
“West Bengal is an important state in Purvodaya Yojana. Eastern Industrial Corridor is being built. Durgapur is going to be its hub. High speed rail project is being planned from Varanasi to Siliguri. This will benefit North Bengal.”

Can’t the West Bengal government take the initiative to build a chemical park near Haldia Chemical Unit?” Such a question was raised by Nirmala Sitharaman.

Finance Minister will discuss with RBI
India’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for the financial year 2026-27 in the Parliament on February 1. Now against this backdrop, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will address the Reserve Bank of India’s central board on February 23 to discuss the budget issues with the RBI, during which she will discuss key issues in the budget for the financial year 2026-27.
