ICC T20 World Cup 2026 : Right-arm off-break bowler Usman Tariq, who made his debut for Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, is again in controversy regarding his action. Tariq’s run-up is not long. He comes in, stops near the crease, and releases the ball with a side-arm, slingshot action – which may seem strange or even illegal at first glance. Due to which he has been accused of ‘chucking’. At the same time, Usman Tariq has said something before the match against India which the Indian fans may not like at all.

In fact, against USA on Tuesday at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC), Usman Tariq was hard to predict as he relied heavily on his googly to take three wickets for 27 runs in Pakistan’s 32-run win over USA in the T20 World Cup 2026 Group ‘A’ match. But, his bowling action is being discussed on social media. Australia’s explosive batsman Tim David also became a part of this discussion. After defeating USA, Pakistan’s next match will be in Colombo’s R. India will be at the Premadasa Stadium, where spin has always been the most effective skill. However, Tariq said that he has no problem with the extra attention he gets because of his strange action. He said, “I think if they are talking about these things then there will be extra pressure on them. If they are objecting like this, then it shows that maybe there will be extra pressure on them. But I don’t know about that. I am really focusing on my cricket and practice.”
