‘I’m devastated…’ Depression passed! This is how Kapil Sharma stood, traumatized by fighting
One of the top comedians in India Kapil Sharma is at the peak of his career. After gaining fame as a comedian, Kapil has now made a name for himself as an actor as well. Kapil Sharma’s story is not just full of laughs; It is meant to break and rise again. Although Kapil Sharma always makes everyone laugh, many things happened in his life which left him broken.
In 2004, his father died. That period was the most difficult for Kapil. Family responsibilities, unfulfilled dreams and an inner emptiness all stood before him at the same time.
Meanwhile, fate offered another chance. In 2007, Kapil won the third season of “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge”, earning not only a trophy but also recognition. He had a check of Rs 10 lakh in his hand, but there was a pang in his heart: “It would have been better if Baba was here today.” The moment was more of an emotional memory than a victory for him. Later, when his show started, he would stand outside his house at 9pm and listen to the laughter coming from the neighboring houses.
In an interview to ETimes, Kapil talked about the ups and downs of his life and said, “Each era had its own charm. Childhood was different. My father’s time was different. After his death in 2004, life completely derailed. Then I got another chance in TV and I got back on track. At the age of 36, depression hit me hard and I was completely broken. People started saying, ‘It’s all over.’ Then I got married. Then the show came back. Then I did 300+ episodes again.”
‘I wanted to change my religion…’, Choreographer Remo told his parents, his father’s one condition changed his life.
He talked about his father’s memories every day and said, “The past never changes. What’s gone never comes back. When I won the trophy (The Great Indian Laughter Challenge Season 3) and got a check of Rs 10 lakh, I cried thinking… I wish my father was here today. When my show started, I remember standing quietly outside my house at 9pm. Every house in the society had TV on and I could hear people laughing. I asked myself, ‘If Dad is alive. If it were, it would be very happy.’ I miss them every day, but some moments are harder.”
