In such a situation, one had to wait for 3 to 7 days for the refund. Now IRCTC has introduced the ‘Resume/Retry Booking’ feature on its iPAY gateway, which will completely eliminate this problem. What is the ‘Resume/Retry’ feature of IRCTC? This feature is like a lifesaver for those transactions in which the ‘payment is settled’ but the ticket is not generated. Reuse of money: If your payment is successful and the money is deducted from the bank, but the ticket is not booked, then you can immediately make a re-booking using the same money. The hassle of refund is over: You will not have to wait for the refund to come nor will you have to pay new money from your account again. How will this feature work? (Step-by-Step) Payment Failure: Suppose you have booked a ticket and the money has been deducted, but the message ‘Booking Failed’ appears on the screen. Notification: In such a case, IRCTC will immediately give you a notification that your payment has been received but the ticket has not been booked. Resume button: You will see the option of ‘Resume/Retry Booking’ on the screen. Retry: On clicking this, you can book the ticket again on the same day using the old deducted amount.
