Northern Coalfields Limited has announced recruitment for Assistant Foreman (Trainee) posts (NCL Recruitment 2026). Candidates will be appointed in different fields. In this, all the information from qualification to selection process is given in detail. Last date of application is 5th March 2026.

The total number of vacancies is 270. There are 116 vacancies for General, 25 for EWS, 51 for SC, 12 for ST and 66 for OBC. To apply, General, OBC- NCL and EWS candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 1180. Out of which Rs 1000 is application fee and Rs 180 is GST. Whereas SC/ST/PWD/Departmental candidates have been exempted from fee payment.

Know eligibility and age limit

Qualification has been prescribed differently for different posts. For Assistant Foreman (E&T) (Trainee) Grade-C, candidates should have 10th pass along with 3 year Diploma in Electronic Engineering. For Assistant Forman Mechanical, it is mandatory to have a 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and for Assistant Forman Electrical, it is mandatory to have a 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

The prescribed age limit is 18 years and maximum 30 years. SC/ST will be given relaxation of 5 years, OBC NCL will be given 3 years and PWD candidates will be given 10 years.

Candidates will be selected on the basis of computer based test and document verification. CBT exam will be conducted in different cities of the country. There will be total 100. Whose duration will be 90 minutes. It will include two sections. Section A will have 70 multiple choice questions related to technical knowledge. Whereas in Section-B, 30 multiple choice questions related to General Knowledge, General Awareness, Reasoning, Verbal and Mental Ability and Aptitude in Quantity will be asked.

Each question will be of one mark. There will be no provision for any kind of negative marking. The examination will be conducted in both English and Hindi languages. Selected candidates will be invited for document verification. The training period for Assistant Foreman Mechanical and Electrical Trainee will be 2 years. Whereas the training period for Assistant Foreman E&T has been fixed at 1 year.
