New Delhi: Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav, who won everyone’s heart with his comedy, is currently serving a sentence in Tihar Jail in a check bounce case. This case started in 2012 when he had taken a loan of Rs 5 crore to direct the film ‘Ata Pata Lapata’. However, the film did not perform well on the big screen, due to which Rajpal’s debt increased. Due to repeated delays and inability to pay the money, the court rejected Rajpal Yadav’s last appeal and ordered him to surrender.

Before surrender, an emotional statement of Rajpal Yadav came out, in which he mentioned about financial crisis and loneliness. As soon as this statement went viral, the debate on industry friendship and relationships intensified on social media, especially regarding the silence of actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

What is the whole matter?

A loan of Rs 5 crore was taken to finance Rajpal Yadav’s film ‘Ata Pata Lapata’. During this time some checks bounced, after which the matter went into legal process. He was convicted under the Negotiable Instruments Act. After repeatedly asking for time and delaying the hearing, the court also rejected his final appeal and directed him to surrender.

Before surrendering in Tihar Jail, the actor reportedly said that he had no means or friends for financial help. After this statement came out, questions started being raised on social media about the friendship and real relationships of the industry.

Rajpal Yadav said,"Sir, what should I do? I don’t have money. There seems to be no other solution… Sir, we are all alone here. no mate. I have to deal with this crisis myself."

In this interview, the ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ actor had talked about getting food, shelter and solace at Rajpal Yadav’s house in Mumbai during the days of struggle. After this old statement came to light, many users raised questions on Nawazuddin’s silence in the current situation.
