Ranveer Singh’s comeback in Aditya Dhar’s new epic film

Mumbai: Aditya Dhar’s name is associated with specific projects in Bollywood. After blockbuster films like ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ and the recently released ‘Dhurandhar’, now the discussion about his next project is in full swing. According to reports, Aditya Dhar has renewed his first look deal with Jio Studios. The deal is for a period of two years, in which a number of films will be produced under his banner B62 Studios, including his next directorial venture.

Aditya Dhar’s new plans after the success of ‘Dhurandhar’

After the stupendous success of ‘Dhurandhar’ (which has earned more than Rs 1300 crore at the box office), the partnership between Jio Studios and Aditya Dhar has become even stronger. Already, the two have worked together on ‘Article 370’, ‘Dhoom Dham’, ‘Baramulla’, and two episodes of ‘Dhurandhar’. This new deal was quietly signed even before the release of ‘Dhurandhar’. Now the big news is that Aditya Dhar wants to collaborate with Ranveer Singh again.

Aditya Dhar’s new mythological action film

Reports suggest that he is working on a new mythological action film, which will star Ranveer Singh in the lead role. Ranveer has already worked with Aditya Dhar in ‘Dhurandhar’ and their chemistry was fantastic. Both have also started discussing this project, but no final decision has been taken yet. Keeping in mind Ranveer’s commitments (like ‘Don 3’), the decision will be taken only after ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ (release in March 2026).

Canceled Immortal Ashwatthama project

On the other hand, The Immortal Ashwatthama Project has been completely scrapped. The film was based on the immortal warrior Ashwatthama of Mahabharata, starring Vicky Kaushal in the lead role. Aditya Dhar had earlier described it as a huge vision, which required high-quality VFX and a big budget. However, it was shelved due to budget challenges and market conditions. Aditya himself had said that this project is ‘too big for Indian cinema right now’ and the cost of the technology is also very high. At present, no plan is being worked on to revive this film.

Sunil Shetty also recently told that he had signed for this film, but everything came to a halt due to the cancellation of the project. Now Aditya Dhar wants to make a new film in the same genre, but with Ranveer Singh. If this project is finalized, we will see a new mythological action entertainer in Bollywood. Meanwhile, Aditya Dhar is busy with the post-production of ‘Dhurandhar 2’, which will release on March 19, 2026.
