Saudi Arabia has nuclear weapons, claims former Iranian commander
Desk: Hossein Kanani Moghadam, a former commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, has made a sensational claim. He claims Saudi Arabia possesses a nuclear bomb, and the US and Israel are fully aware of it. He made this claim in an interview with Russian state broadcaster RT, which comes amid escalating tensions between the US and Tehran in the Middle East.
Kanani said on RT’s program that Saudi Arabia pretends to the world that it does not possess nuclear weapons, but the reality is quite the opposite. He said that both the United States and Israel are well aware of Saudi Arabia’s nuclear capability and that it is being concealed.
The former commander also claimed that Western intelligence agencies, including Mossad and the CIA, are supporting protests in Iran to undermine the Iranian state. He said the goal of these protests is not just to overthrow the government, but to destroy the entire country.
Tensions in the Middle East have escalated significantly in recent months. Last June, the US took action to halt activities at Iran’s nuclear facilities, further fueling instability between the two countries. This was followed by widespread protests in Iran in December and January, which Tehran blamed on the US and Israel.
Recently, US President Donald Trump dispatched the USS Abraham Lincoln, a large warship, to the Middle East and urged Iran to limit its uranium enrichment and ballistic missile programs. Meanwhile, Iran has announced plans to upgrade its missile arsenal and adopt a more aggressive military strategy.
