New Launch Report Card: Sales Numbers Of Mahindra XUV 7XO, Tata Sierra, Kia Seltos And More

2026 has just started and we have already seen several launches. Many new models that were launched last year have started deliveries too. Cars from both Indian and international brands are available in the market. We are in February and the sales numbers for the month of January have already come online. Here we have a report card that shows the sales numbers for models like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Seltos, and the recently launched Mahindra XUV 7XO, XEV 9S, and Tata Sierra.

Mahindra XUV 7XO

We will start with the Indian SUV that recently got an update. The facelifted XUV 700 is now being called the XUV 7XO. It was launched in January and we also saw deliveries for the same commence on January 14.

In the month of January this year, Mahindra sold 10,133 units of the 7XO SUV across the nation. The reason why it got such a great response is because this is the first month. The sales numbers are high because there are a lot of customers who have booked the SUV and are waiting. The numbers will become a lot more stable in the coming months.

The XUV 7XO is available with several premium features, and the revised exterior design along with the triple-screen setup on the dashboard and aggressive pricing makes the 7XO a popular choice among buyers. It is available with both petrol and diesel engine options, and both engines offer manual and automatic transmissions.

Mahindra XEV 9S

Mahindra had also launched their brand-new 7-seater electric SUV, the XEV 9S, in the market last year. While bookings were open, deliveries only started on January 23, 2026. The waiting period for the XEV 9S is around 4–9 months, depending on the variant you choose.

As per the data that is available online, Mahindra has sold 612 units of the XEV 9S in the market. It is available with 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh battery packs, like other electric SUVs in Mahindra’s stable.

Tata Sierra

After Mahindra, Indian manufacturer Tata also started deliveries of their much-anticipated SUV, the Sierra, in the market. The official deliveries commenced on January 15, 2026. The Sierra is one of the coolest-looking Tata models and, because of the nostalgia that people had with the Sierra nameplate, it received an overwhelming response.

Tata has received over 1 lakh bookings for the Sierra. It is available with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol, 1.5-litre NA petrol, and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine option. Tata sold or delivered 7,003 units of the Sierra in January. Once again, the numbers are high because this is the first month in which deliveries have started. This trend may continue for the next couple of months before it settles at a stable number.

Hyundai Venue

The new-generation Hyundai Venue is one of the popular SUVs in the sub-4 metre segment. It competes with the likes of the Kia Sonet, Skoda Kylaq, Maruti Brezza, and Tata Nexon in the segment. The Hyundai Venue comes with a new design and several features that are usually seen in cars from a segment above. It even gets Level 2 ADAS, which is now becoming a popular feature.

In January, Hyundai sold 12,413 units of the Venue in the country. In this segment, Tata is the leader as they managed to sell over 23,000 units of the Nexon (ICE + EV) in the market in just January.

Kia Seltos

The last car on this list is the new-generation Seltos, which was launched earlier this year. The SUV had already reached dealerships and deliveries started by mid-January this year. The Seltos also received a huge update in terms of looks, platform, features, and even ride quality improved.

In January alone, Kia sold 10,639 units of the Seltos in the market. Like most SUVs in this segment, the Seltos is available with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol, 1.5-litre NA petrol, and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine with a variety of transmission options.
