Vande Bharat Sleeper Quota Update: Railway passengers have got a big relief. Amrit Bharat and Indian Railways Vande Bharat It has been decided to implement emergency quota in sleeper trains. The Railway Board has issued an order in this regard, which will increase the chances of passengers getting seats or berths if they need to travel urgently.

Till now, only women quota, disabled quota, senior citizen quota and duty pass quota were applicable in these trains. However, a separate emergency quota will now be established for travelers under special circumstances, which can be adjusted as needed. Emergency quota seats are available only to certain persons or passengers recommended by them.

As per Railway Board orders, an emergency quota of 24 berths has been established in Amrit Bharat trains having seven or more sleeper coaches. This has been done to facilitate the provision of tickets to passengers traveling unexpectedly.

Vande Bharat sleeper trains have fixed emergency quota for different classes. 1st AC will have a quota of 4 berths on weekdays and 6 berths on weekends. The second AC will have a quota of 20 berths on weekdays and 30 berths on weekends. The third AC will have an emergency quota of 24 berths during weekdays and 42 berths during weekends.

When will the new rule come into effect?

According to Railways, this emergency quota will be implemented from the advance reservation period or the no-booking date, whichever is earlier. This means that seats within this quota will be reserved as soon as tickets are opened in the system.

This decision will increase the chances of passengers getting tickets if they have to travel unexpectedly. This will provide great relief to passengers with special needs and allow railways to adjust the quota according to demand. The Railway Board has said that zonal railways can adjust the emergency quota according to seat availability and needs.
