Ho Chi Minh City unveils design of mega sea link between Can Gio and Vung Tau
The master plan for the project linking HCMC’s former Can Gio District and Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province (which has been merged with the city) under a public-private partnership in the form of a build-transfer contract, was approved by the city Party Executive Committee last month.
It will be developed by conglomerate Vingroup at an estimated VND104.4 trillion (US$4.2 billion). Construction is expected to begin in 2026 and take three years.
The entire route will extend over 14 km between Bien Dong 2 Street in the Can Gio sea reclamation urban area and the planned Mai Sao – Ben Dinh road in Vung Tau at the intersection with 30/4 Street.
