Italy completed the chase of 124 against Nepal in 12.4 overs, without losing a wicket. The European side, who is playing the ICC T20 World Cup for the first time, dominated the rivals across departments and registered a historic 10-wicket win in their just second match. After dismissing Nepal for 123 in 19.3 overs, Italy’s openers Justin Mosca and Anthony Mosca scored well-compiled fifties.
Mosca was unbeaten on 60 runs off 44 balls, with the help of 5 fours and 3 sixes, while Anthony managed 62 not out in 32 deliveries, laced with 6 sixes and 3 boundaries.
Earlier, Nepal batters were easily undone by the Italian bowlers, with none of the willow holders crossing the fifty-run mark.
Aarif Sheikh (27), Rohit Paudel (23), Aasif Sheikh (20) and Karan KC (18*) were the only players who touched the double-digit mark.
Crishan Kalugamage took three wickets while Ben Manenti dismissed two batters. Ali Hasan, JJ Smuts and Jaspreet Singh got rid of one batter each.
It is a big win for Italy, considering they are making their debut in an ICC event. Nepal, who put England on the back foot in the previous game, were ordinary against Italy at the Wankhede Stadium.
