An agreement was reached after the second round of talks between Transport Department officials and representatives of the Contractual Employees Union on Thursday.
Union leaders said that drivers and other employees are returning to work. Bus operations will become completely normal from Friday morning. Around 8,000 employees from 27 depots of the state since last two days strike Due to which bus services almost came to a standstill.

Why was Bharat Bandh called?
Along with this strike, ‘Bharat Bandh’ also had an impact. Farmers, trade unions and bank unions had called the bandh to protest against the India-US trade deal and labor laws. People had to face a lot of trouble due to road jams and protests at many places, especially in Patiala and surrounding areas.

Harkesh Vicky, state vice president of PRTC Contractual Employees Union, said that an agreement has been reached to reinstate the employees who were removed in November. Apart from this, assurance has also been given to soon release the 10 employees arrested in December.
