Electric SUVs have been well received by consumers in the Indian auto market. Mahindra’s two electric SUVs launched in 2025 also did well in India. The futuristic look and powerful performance of these electric SUVs gave a great response to both the SUVs. This SUV is Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e.

Mahindra is seen making rapid progress in the field of electric four-wheelers. The success of the BE 6 and XEV 9e in the company’s portfolio clearly shows this. In fact, the company has sold 41,000 units of both these SUVs in 10 months.

The BE 6 and XEV 9e are known for their futuristic design as well as a strong range. In January, 1,945 units of XEV 9e and 1,028 units of BE 6 were sold. Interestingly, in 10 months, this SUV has covered a distance of 32 crore kilometers. That is, on an average, each vehicle has covered a distance of 7,800 kilometers.

Mahindra BE 6: Range, Battery and Features

The company claims that the BE 6 EV with a 79kWh battery pack can run up to 682 km on a single charge. But in Auto Car India’s tests, this model gave an average range of 449 km. The 59kWh variant has a claimed range of 535 km.

BE 6 offers flexible options when it comes to charging. The EV is fully charged in about 6 to 8 hours via an 11kW AC charger. It can also be charged from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes with the help of a 140kW or 175kW DC fast charger.

In terms of features, the BE 6 gets a panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, 12.3-inch touchscreen, digital driver display and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Apart from this, modern features like 360° camera, dual wireless charger, ADAS level 2, ventilated seats and dual-zone climate control are available.

Mahindra XEV 9e: Features

Mahindra XEV 9e measures 4789 mm in length, 1907 mm in width, 1694 mm in height and 2775 mm in wheelbase. The ground clearance is 207 mm and the turning diameter is 10 m. 245/55 R19 (245/50 R20) tires are offered on this SUV. 663 liters of boot space and 150 liters of frunk (front trunk) are available.

A 231hp/380Nm motor is offered with a 59kWh battery pack. It comes with RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) drive. Its MIDC range is 542 km. Charging takes 20 minutes with a 140kW fast charger. Also, a full charge takes 8.7 hours with a 7.2kW charger and 6 hours with an 11kW charger.

The 79kWh variant has a 286hp/380Nm motor and also comes with RWD drive. Its MIDC range is 656 km. Charging is possible in 20 minutes via a 170kW fast charger. A full charge takes 11.7 hours with the 7.2kW charger and 8 hours with the 11kW charger. This SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.8 seconds.
