New Samsung e-paper display on the market; Paper-like look, digital performance

Taking a big leap in the field of digital signage, Samsung has introduced the new Samsung E-Paper Display in the market. This display looks exactly like paper but works like a fully digital device. Interestingly, its thickness and material is also paper thin. So this alternative can be more effective than traditional paper posters or signboards.

This e-paper display is based on ultra-low-power technology and uses a bio-resin coating made from phytoplankton. The company claims that this is the first display to use such a material. This product is also considered important from the environment friendly point of view. Samsung’s new model EM13DX is the latest model in the e-paper lineup. The display looks like an A4 paper, has a size of 13 inches and an aspect ratio of 4:3. Weight is only 0.9 kg and thickness is about 18 mm. So it can be easily mounted on the wall or pasted like paper.

The biggest feature of this display is that it consumes almost zero power while displaying static (non-changing) content. This means that once the information is set, no continuous power supply is required to display it. So this option is very useful where there is no need to change the information frequently. For example, this display is suitable for displaying information on menu cards, offer boards, office signboards or shop counters in hotels, cafes, restaurants. There is no need to install a traditional LED TV or monitor. It is a lighter, less expensive and energy-saving alternative to larger screens.

Another important feature of this e-paper display is the use of digital ink technology. So the information on the screen looks clear and natural. Once the device is installed, the information can be digitally altered as needed. It also saves the recurring cost of printing paper posters. In summary, this new e-paper display from Samsung is bridging the gap between traditional paper signage and digital screens. Eco-friendly, energy-saving and easy-to-use, this option can be widely used in commercial places in the future.
