Speaking to news agency PTI, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader Zeba Amina Khan expressed hope of victory in the elections. She said, “I hope and I pray that we will form the government in Bangladesh, and it will be with majority. That’s all I can say. We hope and we believe that we are winning. There is a lot of talk about how many seats we will get, but I think it is all imaginary and frankly, not realistic. I don’t want to give any specific number because it can go up or down, and it is not right to do so. But I think we will win in Bangladesh. Going to win majority and Tariq Rehman will be Prime Minister.”

Meanwhile, on India-Bangladesh relations, Zeba Amina Khan said, “We are neighbours, we are friends, and we should remain friends. Our border is very big. What is a security risk for India is also a security risk for us. Therefore, we should take care of each other. There are some small issues in our border area, and these should be resolved among ourselves so that we can live together. We do not want any threat from India.” Why should we work together with the people of Bangladesh? It is not about what the people of Bangladesh want, we can be the best friends of India.

On the extradition of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the BNP leader said, “I personally feel that no country should give shelter to criminals. Be they political criminals, financial criminals, or any other kind of criminals, no country should give them shelter. They should get justice. I am not saying this about any one person, because many people have gone to India.”
