Rajsamand: Gang printing fake notes busted, 2 arrested

Rajsamand police caught a gang printing fake notes in Jaitpura village. Two youths were arrested and fake notes and printing equipment worth Rs 80 thousand were seized. The police are now investigating the gang’s network.

Rajasthan: Kelwa police station of Rajsamand district received information from an informer that suspicious activities were going on in a closed house in Jaitpura village. Running a special operation on the instructions of the District Superintendent of Police, the police team raided the house.

During the raid, the police arrested two youths red handed in the house. The accused were Narayan Lal Gurjar (33) and Kamlesh Gurjar (23). The accused had started printing fake notes using color printer and other technical equipment inside the house.

Fake notes and equipment recovered

During the search, police recovered 15 notes of Rs 500, 362 notes of Rs 200 and 4 notes of Rs 50. All notes had the same serial number. The total value of recovered fake notes has been estimated at Rs 80,100.

The police also seized color printer, ink containers, special type of paper, cutter and other equipment used in printing notes. Police officers were also surprised to see how a network of fake notes was being created with the help of technical means.

The police is now investigating how many fake notes the accused have put in the market so far. It is also being ascertained whether the gang’s network extends to other cities or states or not. For this, the police is conducting technical and forensic investigation.

Police officer Subodh Jangid said that the investigation is going on as to who else is behind the gang. He has also appealed to the public that if anyone sees a suspicious note or any kind of suspicious activity, they should immediately inform the police. This action also sent a message that the police is continuously running a campaign against those circulating fake currency and no criminal is safe.
