Bangladesh Election 2026 Results Update: 13th National Parliamentary Elections of Bangladesh Voting has ended and counting of votes is underway. But even before the results the political turmoil has intensified. Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League has rejected the entire process, calling the elections ‘illegal’, ‘one-sided’ and ‘against constitutional values’. The party alleges that this election conducted under the leadership of the interim government and chief advisor Mohammad Yunus is not fair.

He claimed that his party was banned from contesting elections, leaving a large section of the population out of the voting process. The party issued a statement on social media saying that the people’s voting rights and democratic values were sidelined. The Awami League has demanded cancellation of the elections, resignation of Mohammad Yunus, release of political prisoners and new elections under an impartial interim government.
BNP coalition government going to be formed in Bangladesh?
- According to media reports, Tariq Rehman’s BNP alliance has won 96 seats and Jamaat-e-Islami alliance has won 32 seats, while its allies are leading in 12 out of 16 seats.
- BNP leader Tariq Rehman has won the elections from both his seats. He was contesting from Dhaka-17 and Bogra-6 seats.
- Jamaat-e-Islami won 32 seats and an independent candidate won one seat.
- BNP’s Fazlur Rehman has registered a big victory from Kishoreganj-4 seat.
- BNP candidate Salahuddin Ahmed is said to be leading in Cox’s Bazar-1 also.
- BNP spokesperson Mahdi Amin claimed that their victory was ‘obvious and inevitable’. He appealed to the party workers to remain at the counting centers and keep an eye on the results.
- In Bangladesh, 80.11 percent voting took place through postal ballot.

The official website of Bangladesh Election Commission is currently down. However, polling station level figures are being read out through live broadcast from the Election Commission Secretariat in Dhaka. The official winner has not been declared on any seat yet.
