Uttar Pradesh: Shivam Mishra, the main accused in the famous Lamborghini accident of Kanpur, has got a big relief. The ACMM court rejected the police’s 14-day remand application and released Shivam on a personal bond of Rs 20,000.

The court also ordered that the accused will cooperate fully in the investigation. This decision came only a few hours after the arrest, due to which the case came into more headlines.

On Sunday, a Lamborghini Revalto car worth around Rs 10-12 crore collided with many pedestrians and two-wheelers at high speed on VIP Road (Gwaltoli area) of Kanpur. At least 6 people were injured in this accident. The viral video and CCTV footage clearly showed that only Shivam Mishra came out from the driving seat of the car.

Police investigation confirmed that Shivam himself was driving the car at the time of the accident. After the accident, bouncers were seen on the spot, who were trying to hide the number plate and disperse the crowd. Initially the police were accused of negligence, after which the Gwaltoli police station in-charge was put on the line.

Arrest in the morning and bail in the evening

Shivam absconded after the accident. Police conducted raids with several teams. Shivam was arrested from his house near 6 Bungalow Road on Thursday morning. The defense tried to present dummy driver Mohan Lal, but the court did not accept it because Shivam’s name was in the FIR.

Shivam represented himself in the court. The police could not provide evidence on the notice process, after which the court rejected the remand and granted bail.

Police investigation continues

Police investigation is ongoing. The Lamborghini has been seized and forensic investigation is underway. Shivam will have to cooperate in the investigation. This matter is raising questions on high speed, luxury cars and the attitude of influential people. The injured are undergoing treatment and there is anger in the society over this incident. Police say that further action will be taken on the basis of evidence.
