Great comeback of BNP
Bangladesh Nationalist Party has performed brilliantly in the elections and has crossed the majority mark. According to Dhaka Tribune, BNP has so far won 151 seats. Reuters report also confirms this big victory of BNP and return to power.
According to preliminary unofficial results, counting of 204 out of 299 seats has been completed. In these results, BNP alliance is ahead or has won 158 seats. These trends make it clear that the formation of BNP government in the country is now almost certain.
Tariq Rehman’s big win
BNP chief Begum Khaleda Zia’s son Tariq Rehman has won a big victory from Bogra seat. He secured 2,16,284 votes in Bogra and has proved his popularity in the country. Rehman has captured both the important seats of Dhaka-17 and Bogra-6.
