Share Market: Earthquake in the stock market, IT sector fell flat, Sensex fell by 772 points, Nifty also fell.
Share Market Fall 13 Feb: Friday is proving to be a difficult day for investors due to heavy selling in IT shares in the Indian stock market. BSE’s 30-share Sensex today opened 772 points lower at 82,902, while Nifty 50 opened 236 points lower at 25,571.
Talking about the last session, on Thursday Sensex fell by 558 points to close at 83,674 and Nifty fell by 236 points to close at 25,807. Widespread profit booking in the market and selling in IT stocks led to the decline.
Asian markets also declined
Asian markets recorded a decline on Friday. Japan’s Nikkei 225 slipped 1.69 percent, while the Topix lost 0.58 percent. South Korea’s Kospi fell 0.48 percent and Kosdaq fell 1.36 percent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index is also indicating a weak start.
There were losses on Wall Street on Thursday due to selling in American tech stocks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 669.42 points, or 1.34 percent, to 49,451.98, the S&P 500 fell 108 points, or 1.57 percent, to 6,832.76 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 469.32 points, or 2.03 percent, to 22,597.15.
Tech stocks fall
Apple’s share price fell 5 percent, Nvidia 1.61 percent, AMD 3.58 percent, Amazon 2.25 percent, Microsoft 0.63 percent, Meta Platform 2.82 percent and Tesla 2.62 percent. India’s retail inflation rose to 2.75 percent in January, rising for the third consecutive month.
defense acquisition
The Defense Acquisition Council (DAC) approved capital acquisition proposals worth Rs 3.60 lakh crore to meet the key requirements of the Indian Air Force, Army, Navy and Coast Guard. This includes Rafale jets, P8I aircraft, anti-tank mines and others.

condition of crude oil and gold
Gold prices rose 0.1 percent to $4,926.79/ounce and silver rose 0.6 percent to $75.72. Crude oil gained modestly, with Brent crude up 0.09 per cent at $67.58 and WTI crude up 0.11 per cent at $62.91 a barrel.
