Ishan Kishan’s dominance in Delhi, equaled Rohit Sharma by hitting fifty in 20 balls

Team India’s destructive opener Ishan Kishan created havoc in the T20 World Cup match against Namibia on Thursday (February 12). At the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Ishaan destroyed the Namibian bowlers and scored fifty in just 20 balls. He got a chance to play only four balls in the first two overs, in which he was able to score only two singles.

During this, Sanju Samson was holding the lead and he was out after scoring 22 runs in 8 balls. Sanju’s wicket fell on the last ball of the second over. After this, Ishaan took up the responsibility of scoring runs and hit two consecutive fours in the third over. Even in the fourth and fifth overs, one boundary each came from his bat. Ishan wreaked havoc on Namibian bowler JJ Smit in the last over of the powerplay.

Left-handed batsman Ishaan guided the left-arm medium pacer’s first ball towards short third, on which no runs were scored. After this he adopted the aerial route and hit 4 sixes in 4 balls. Ishaan pulled the last ball and completed his fifty at a strike rate of 250. With this he equaled a special record of Rohit Sharma.

India’s record powerplay score

Ishan scored 28 runs in the sixth over, taking India to 86/1 at the end of the powerplay. This was India’s best powerplay score in T20 World Cup history. Even after the opening of Ishaan Field, there was no sign of stopping. Even in the seventh over, he hit a six and a four on consecutive balls. However, his storm stopped in the eighth over. Namibian captain Gerard Erasmus had him caught at deep midwicket. Ishaan returned to the pavilion after scoring 61 runs in 24 balls. He hit 6 fours and 5 sixes in his innings.
