India won the 18th match of T20 World Cup 2026 against Namibia by 93 runs. Captain Suryakumar Yadav is happy with the team’s performance in this World Cup. In this match played on Thursday, India scored 209 runs losing 9 wickets on the basis of brilliant innings of Ishan Kishan (61) and Hardik Pandya (52). In response, the Namibian team was reduced to 116 runs in 18.2 overs.
India had won against USA by 29 runs in the last match. Now Team India will face Pakistan on 15th February and Netherlands on 18th February. Expressing happiness over the team’s performance, the captain said, “I am very happy with the way things have progressed so far. The future is exactly what we were looking for. Every match is important. We had a bit of a wobble in the beginning, but now I feel we are on the right track.”
After the second consecutive win in the T20 World Cup 2026, captain Suryakumar Yadav said, “Overall it was a very good match for everyone. I think it was not an easy wicket to bat on, but the way Ishan and Sanju started the innings, it felt like the wicket was easy. After that, after losing two-three quick wickets, the partnership between Shivam and Hardik was praiseworthy. The way they batted, it was brilliant.”
He said, “I felt that the ball was coming a little late, but I don’t want to take away credit from the Namibian bowlers. They bowled really well. They came with full enthusiasm, they executed their plans very well. I was very impressed with their bowling.”
Returning to the playing eleven, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah bowled 4 overs, taking 1 wicket for 20 runs. Regarding this player, the captain said, “It was very positive for us to see Jasprit Bumrah bowl his entire four overs. His return to the team is good and he is fully prepared for the next match as well.”
‘Player of the Match’ Hardik Pandya after scoring 52 runs also took 2 wickets. Praising this all-rounder, Surya said, “If we talk about Hardik, he bowls with the new ball, with the old ball and even in the death overs if needed. Also, the way he bats, his positive mindset in such situations is a big boost for the team. Today, him becoming the player of the match in an important match is a good thing for the team.”
