Four people died in Bhilwara after drinking acid mistaking it for liquor.
A heartbreaking incident in Bhilwara, Rajasthan has shocked the entire area. Four people died in Aloli village of Gangapur police station area when they drank the acid or flammable liquid used in cleaning work, mistaking it for alcohol. Three women and one man lost their lives in this accident, due to which a wave of mourning has spread in the village.

According to the information received from the police, some people of the village had taken the work of washing utensils and cleaning on contract in a recently organized wedding ceremony. The ceremony was held on 9 and 10 January. After the program was over, they brought home the liquid used for cleaning. According to preliminary information, this substance was a fuel used for heating food or cleaning.
It is being told that late on Thursday night, all four people present at the house drank the same liquid, mistaking it for liquor. Shortly after consumption, his health started deteriorating rapidly. He complained of vomiting, severe stomach pain and nervousness. Seeing the situation worsening, the family immediately took him to the government hospital in Gangapur.
Doctors in the hospital declared three people dead after investigation. Due to the condition of a young man being very serious, he was referred to the district hospital, but he also died during treatment. A total of four people died.
Identification of the dead
The deceased have been identified as Ratan son of Masaria Kanjar, resident of Madhopur, Sushila Devi, Jamni Devi wife of Shankar Kanjar and Badami Devi Kanjar. All the bodies have been kept in the hospital mortuary for post-mortem. The bodies will be handed over to the relatives after the necessary legal process is completed.
The district administration became active as soon as information about the incident was received. District Collector and Superintendent of Police reached the spot and took stock of the situation. Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh Yadav said that considering the seriousness of the matter, investigation is being done from every aspect.
Police are trying to find out from where the liquid in question was purchased and for what purpose it was kept. The shop from where this material was taken is also being investigated. Besides, the Excise Department has also been informed and a detailed investigation into the matter has been started.
