It is not decided to play against Pakistan
Due to a serious stomach infection, his participation in the high-voltage match against Pakistan is still uncertain. According to reports, he fell ill before the opening match of the tournament and remained hospitalized in New Delhi for treatment of acute gastroenteritis and dehydration. He has now been discharged and was seen doing light practice on Friday, but the team management does not want to take any risks.

Captain and team reaction
Captain Suryakumar Yadav said that Abhishek is not fully fit yet and may miss one or two matches. The team is giving priority to his long-term fitness. Spinner Varun Chakraborty has given positive signals after seeing him in the nets, but the final decision will be taken after the last practice session before the match. If Abhishek is unable to prove match fitness, then there is a possibility of playing the opening pair of Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan.
